Lifesaving Merit Badge

Lifesaving - Report to Camp Zhender between 3:30 and 3:50 PM to prepare for 4:15 - 5:15 pm pool time.

Each Scout must already have completed Swimming Merit Badge (per Lifesaving Merit Badge prerequisites)

Each Scout must be a swimmer after the Swim Test on the first day in order to continue with the course according to the prerequisites from the Lifesaving Merit Badge Pamphlet.

After the Swim Test, each scout must go right into swimming the remaining yardage of the 400 yd swim demonstrating confidence in swimming; front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke (per LIfesaving Merit Badge prerequisites).

Each Scout must wear appropriate swim attire (girls - one piece swim suits that are non revealing, boys must wear boxer style swim trunks that are non revealing).

Each Scout is to bring a towel and a water bottle each week.

A makeup day is built in at the end of the course for any Scout that needs more time.

Scouts must be picked up at 5:15 - 5:30 pm each week.

Scouts must attend all dates to complete course: 2/2, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16
