Snuffy Hollow Camporee
The Snuffy Hollow Camporee
was established in 1963 in response to a field competition that was held between a few of the local troops in Helmetta, New Jersey. The competition was so popular and successful that a Snuffy Hollow Camporee Committee was formed to oversee the development and implementation of an annual invitational Snuffy Hollow Camporee designed with the Boy Scout and the Patrol Method as the focal point. The Skill Events and the Trail challenges the Patrols and their members, their cooperation, teamwork, and will require the knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate not only how well they know the skills, but also how well they follow instructions and directions, follow their patrol leaders, their equal participation, their Scout and Patrol Spirit, and their ability to be creative and resourceful in resolving situations using the appropriate Scout Skills. The Snuffy Hollow Camporee is a Scouting adventure for the Patrols as they are working under the leadership of their Patrol Leaders. “Tater Hollow” is for the Webelos Scouts and they have their own competition and awards.
It is the goal of the Snuffy Hollow Camporee Committee to provide a weekend of quality fun and activities for all scouts in keeping with the true purpose and values promoted within the scouting program. The participation of all scouts is encouraged for a rewarding and memorable scouting experience.
