Forestburg Scout Reservation:

Summer Camp Staff-

The Monmouth Council Boy Scouts of America is hiring seasonal camp staff members to provide programs at our two summer camp operations. Positions vary greatly but include program counselors for areas like nature, outdoor skills, STEM, climbing, lifeguards, area directors, administration staff, food service, medical response personnel, retail staff, and more. In most cases, training needed for these positions will be provided as a part of the staff training. The summer camps range from one week (CIT) of employment to eight weeks of employment, from about June 26th through August 17 (contract dates to be determined).

Applicants must be at least 15 years old. All summer camp staff are subject to outside environmental conditions and summer heat.

Camp Clerk: Reports To: Camp Director/ Billet Commissioner

Qualifications: Registered Scout or Scouter, at least 15 years old. Must be physically able to perform the necessary duties of the position.

Duties:

1. Maintains cleanliness and order of camp office building and grounds.

2. Answers telephone; takes and distributes messages.

3. Collects and distributes mail.

4. Performs office tasks as assigned.

5. Serves as an office receptionist.

6. Assists in camp record keeping and paperwork.

Lodging and meals are included in the position. 

Services Director-

The Service Director is a seasonal, administrative position responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the dining hall, trading post, and other administrative duties as needed.

This position demands a commitment to the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. It requires confident leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, a healthy dose of humor, endless supplies of energy and creativity, and the desire to be a positive influence on the lives of children.

This position requires the staff member to be 18+ (21 preferred).

Trading Post Manager-

The Trading Post Manager is an administrative position responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of Camp Trading Post. This position demands a commitment to the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. It requires confident leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, a healthy dose of humor, endless supplies of energy and creativity, and the desire to be a positive influence on the lives of children.

This position requires the staff member to be 18+ (21 preferred).

Camp Commissioners-

The Commissioner is an administrative position responsible for much of the overall supervision of the daily camp operations. This position demands a commitment to the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. It requires confident leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, a healthy dose of humor, endless supplies of energy and creativity, and the desire to be a positive influence on the lives of children.

The Commissioner will be responsible for scheduling volunteers during daily activities, ensuring all activities are run safely, inspiring creativity and fun, encouraging counselors to remain engaged with campers, and much more.

This position requires the staff member to be 18+ (21 preferred). The staff member must be handy and have good communication skills to work with Troops.

Aquatics Director-

The Aquatics Director is an administrative/counselor position responsible for the overall supervision and daily operations of all waterfront activities. This position demands a commitment to the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. It requires confident leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, a healthy dose of humor, endless supplies of energy and creativity, and the desire to be a positive influence on the lives of children.

The Aquatics Director will be responsible for scheduling lifeguards and lakefront counselors, ensuring activities are run safely, ensuring all equipment is kept in working order, inspiring creativity and fun, encouraging counselors to remain engaged with campers, and much more.

The Aquatics director must be 21 years of age and complete a National Camp School Certification prior to camp opening.
