NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide the youth members of Scouts BSA with the leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and beyond. The skills learned at NYLT will prepare them not only for leadership in the troop, but for life, whether it be sports, school or a future career.

NYLT is truly a youth-led activity, with qualified male and female youth volunteers who have spent many hours honing the skills they first learned as participants of the course themselves. In staff development sessions, they work together to become a well-trained, well-prepared team, ready and eager to deliver a memorable week-long experience for male and female youth participants.

NYLT operates as a troop with both male and female Scouts assigned to patrols. While the total number of participants is fixed, the breakdown of male and female patrols will be based on participant registrations.

Every Scouts BSA member in Monmouth Council deserves the opportunity to develop their leadership skills so they can become better leaders – in Scouting and in life. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. Note: Participants are required to attend every day of the course – early departure, late arrivals will not be permitted since the participant will miss important team development and instruction time by not attending the entirety of the course.

We feel Monmouth Council delivers a strong, effective program which will prepare Scouts to apply and demonstrate those leadership skills in their home troops.
