Guided Hikes on the Red Dot Trail
Take a Guided hike with your den, patrol or family on Quail Hill’s picturesque Red Trail, see nature at its best, observe native animals in a wooded setting, learn about native trees to Monmouth county and enjoy a great walk in the woods. This is a free event, but you must register to participate. Approximate time for the trail is 2 hours and start times will be staggered to meet social distancing guidelines. Max of 23 hikers for trek on the Red Dot Trail.
Fishing at Keily Pond
Come visit Kiely Pond in the back country of Quail Hill and learn how to hook bait, cast a reel and catch and release some native New Jersey fish including, Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Pickerel, Yellow Perch, Northern Pike, Catfish, Muskellunge, Carp and Trout. You will need to bring your own Fishing equipment, rod, reel, lures and bait! You do not need a fishing license, just the willingness to learn how to fish. Open to dens, patrols and families This is a free event, but you must register to participate for an up to 3-hour fishing trip.
Unit Activity Time
Need a place for your den or patrol activities and someone’s back yard just won’t do, how about visiting Quail Hill for the orienteering or geocaching project. How about teaching your new scouts how to safely build a fire, teach them tote n chip or demonstrate how to use a Dutch oven? How about 3 hours at Quail Hill for this free use of a camp site. Limited to groups of 10
Family Weekend at Quail Hill
Want to get away with out leaving town? How about a family campout at Quail Hill Scout Reservation one weekend over the summer? There are campsites to accommodate families up to 25 members or Scout units…dens or patrols of up to groups of 25 people as long as mom, dad or a guardian must accompany your scout. Tent sites are available for $100.00 per site per weekend. Bring your own tent, go glamping! Show your child how skilled you are in the great outdoors. Please review the current definition of family camping as defined by the local authorities on the registration form. This is open to Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA units.

Want to test or practice your compass skills? Come visit QHSR where we have 3 levels of challenging Orienteering courses beginner, Skilled and Championship levels. Maximum of 25 individuals socially spaced 6 ft apart per group, please.
