Training: Scoutmaster Position-Specific
Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (SPST) is the BSA’s initial level of training for the leaders of Scout BSA troops. It is designed for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Junior Assistant Scoutmasters. However, committee members and other adults connected to a Scout BSA troop are welcome to attend.
This is one of the required part of the training curriculum for for all Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.
This classroom course is offered normally once in the Spring and twice in the Fall of the year. This course can also be coordinated to be taught at your unit by your District Training Chairperson. Please contact them for more information if you want to host this type of course.
This course is also available online through My.Scouting if you can not make the in-person courses. Both the online and in-person offerings cover the same basic content.
