Training: Scoutmaster Position-Specific

Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training (SPST) is the BSA’s initial level of training for the leaders of Scout BSA troops. It is designed for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Junior Assistant Scoutmasters. However, committee members and other adults connected to a Scout BSA troop are welcome to attend.

This is one of the required part of the training curriculum for for all Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.  This class will explore roles & responsibilities, troop organization, safety issues related to effective troop leadership. We will role model that Scouting is a game with a purpose that makes learning fun.

This classroom course is offered normally once in the Spring and once in the Fall of the year. This course can also be coordinated to be taught at your unit by your District Training Chairperson. Please contact them for more information if you want to host this type of course.
